Fall Golf Buyers Show

The Sponsors and Marketing Committee is hosting a Fall Golf Buyers Preview Show on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 28 and 29, 2010, at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Southington, Conn. If you have never attended a show like this, give it a try. You will find that it is a very efficient use of your time, something that is in great demand these days.

The section is combining efforts with a group of sales representatives from our local jurisdiction who had arranged a RAGS Show in the fall in the past. This year’s show will feature apparel companies and section partners and sponsors, along with several PGA Licensees for a one-stop shopping experience. The format for the Golf Buyer Show will be similar in that all sales representatives will have their own personal room to conduct business. This will be a good opportunity to see multiple sales reps in a close time frame and, in our opinion, a service of which many of us should take advantage.

The Sponsors and Marketing Committee is asking you as managing professional and staunch supporter of the section to consider attending our Fall Golf Buyers Preview Show. Additionally, we would also ask you to bring a friend. THERE IS NO COST TO ATTEND. Please call a few other managing professionals and urge them to come and conduct business, show support to our Sponsors and frankly, use their time wisely.

- PGA Members that attend the Fall Preview Show will earn 2 PGA MSR Credits under Category 07 of Activities; Attendance Section Merchandise Show

- The PGA of America is making plans to send a Golf Retirement Plus Specialist so that PGA Professionals can review their suppliers accounts, register for new ones, and be fully serviced

- The companies and representative that are attending the show will be listed here soon

The organizers from the RAGS Show were very agreeable to the idea of the section joining with their event which would benefit both the sponsors and our members.

If you plan to attend, it is helpful if you register online since many of the vendors are interested in knowing who will be attending. However, you may just show up if your schedule opens up unexpectedly. You may also contact your sales representative now and make appointments.

Vendor Information

A special rate of $139 per night has been arranged with the Residence Inn for Sept. 26-29. All companies are responsible to make their own reservation and guarantee it with a credit card or an advance deposit received 30 days prior to arrival.

Reservations can be made by contacting the hotel directly at 860-621-4440 and referencing the group name, Connecticut Section PGA. Reservations will automatically be billed for one night unless cancelled by 6pm the day of arrival. Reservations received after August 26 will be provided on a space available basis at prevailing rates.
