EAST GRANBY, Conn. (June 26, 2012) - Benjamin James of Milford, Conn. fired an impressive one-under-par 35 in the 10-12 Year Old Division within the 12 & Under Junior Tournament today at Copper Hill Golf Club, which was also the recipient of the 2012 Walter Lowell Public Golf Course Distinguished Service Award for their many endeavors including their work with junior golfers in Connecticut. James, 9, had two birdies and one bogey on the day to take first place honors. Small Storm Cell Moves through Southwick
SOUTHWICK, Mass. (June 25, 2012) - After a short one hour delay in starting times this morning, the TaylorMade-adidas Pro-Am #4 takes a second brief hiatus for a quick moving thunderstorm through southwest Massachusetts. Currently, six teams are in the clubhouse with 31 teams still yet to finish. All but the final four teams have teed off in the fourth event of the Mohegan Sun Pro-Am Series.

The new date for the Glastonbury Junior Open is Tuesday, August 21. Participants MUST WITHDRAW online by Monday, July 2 for a full 100% refund. If a participant withdraws after next Monday, they will be entitled to 90% of their entry fee up to Wednesday, August 15. Normal no show policy applies within 5 day window of the event.

Travelers Championship Open Qualifier Underway
Current Low Leader in with 65
BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (June 18, 2012) - The Travelers Championship Open Qualifier is currently underway at Gillette Ridge Golf Club to determine which players of 65 will capture the four spots into the PGA TOUR event, the Travelers Championship, later this week. With 43 players reported, the current leader Patrick Reed, of Houston, Tex., sits at seven-under-par 65.

Reed, Petrovic, Hazen, Carbone Qualify for Travelers Championship
Six-Under-Par on Back Nine Helps Reed Capture Lead HonorsBLOOMFIELD, Conn. – Patrick Reed (pictured) of Houston, Texas, Tim Petrovic of Austin, Texas, James Hazen of Miller Place, N.Y., and Michael Carbone of Brewster, Mass. all qualified for the Travelers Championship during the Open Qualifier at Gillette Ridge Golf Club today. Reed fired a miraculous seven-under-par, 65 finishing the last seven holes, six-under-par, to lead the Open Qualifier field. Petrovic, with one bogey and six birdies on the day, had consistency and his father, Bob Petrovic, on his side to shoot a five-under-par 67. Bob Petrovic was a past employee at Gillette Ridge and was able to guide his son around the course just 24 hours after Father’s Day.

An Ace Helps Bigley Earn First Place Honors
BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (June 13, 2012) - The Travelers Championship Pre-Qualifier held today at Gillette Ridge Country Club earned the top 51 finishers a place in the Travelers Championship Open Qualifier on Monday, June 18. Scores in the qualifying group ranged from 69, three-under-par, to 81, nine-over-par, in very tough and wet conditions. The medalist of the day,Bryan Bigley of Schenectady, N.Y., could not have done it without his hole-in-one ace on the par 3, 163 yard fourth hole. Two birdies and a bogey on top of that left him at three-under on the day, better than the other 83 in the field. Jason Thresher of West Suffield, Conn. finished at two-under par in sole second place. Geoffrey Sisk of Marshfield, Mass., Justin Martinson of Avondale, Penn., and Brandon Parker of Auburn, Mass. all finished at one-under-par 71 for third place.
Another notable advancing to the Open Qualifier on Monday is 2011 Boys Junior Connecticut PGA Champion, Monte Mullen of Farmington, Conn. Mullen fired a reasonable eight-over-par, 80 to make his way in.

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (June 13, 2012) - The Travelers Championship Pre-Qualifier is underway today at Gillette Ridge Golf Club where a field of 80 including 24 amateurs play for a chance to make it into the Travelers Championship Open Qualifier on Monday, June 18. The top 50 finishers including ties will advance to the Open Qualifier Monday where only the top four finishers will then make it in to the Travelers Championship, June 20-24.
Among the 24 amateur players is Monte Mullen of Farmington, Conn. and our 2011 Boy's Junior Connecticut PGA Champion.

Marrello Fires 68 in Golf Max/Golf Pride Pro-Senior Am
Eagle on the Par-5 Second Helps in Early Start
WATERFORD, Conn. (June 4, 2012) – Fran Marrello, PGA Active Member, cards a three-under-par 68 in the Golf Max/Golf Pride Pro-Senior Am today at Great Neck Country Club. After a solid par on the first, Marrello eagles the par-5 second. Two birdies and a bogey with all pars in between rounded out Marrello’s round of 68 in the individual professional contest. Host PGA Professional, Kevin Shea and Adam D'Amario of Indian Hill Country Club finished tied for second with even par 71.
Shea and Great Neck Country Club amateurs Bill Dillon, Jim O'Reilly, and Jim O'Neill took first place honors in the gross/net team competition with a whopping 16-under-par 126.
