SUMMARY:18-Hole Don Miklus Junior Open
DESCRIPTION:The Players TOUR is designed for experienced players not quite ready to play from the back tees or who still need to develop some of their skills. The age limit is 18 & under. These players will have had prior tournament experience either from the high school level\, Junior TOUR\, PGA Junior League or other organized golf. These will be 18-hole contests with the boys playing from approximately 5800-6100 yards and the girls playing from the forward tees. Players will have the opportunity to advance to the 36-hole Champions TOUR at any point if they meet set criteria. There will be a separate player of the year race for this level. \nEach event includes range ball\, lunch\, and the ability to earn pro shop credit\, trophies\, and player of the year points. \nSpectators are welcome.

SUMMARY:Connecticut Senior Open
DESCRIPTION:Registration will open March 1st\, 2020 at 8:00 AM for professionals and amateurs (8.5 max. USGA handicap Index)\, age 50 and over by July 13\, on a first-come\, first-serve basis. The field will be limited to 156 players. Exempt players (see 2020 Exemption List) will have until the deadline date to enter. As exempt players enter this will move non-exempt players who have entered further down on their position. So\, it is important for non-exempt players to register early. \nThe Competition will be conducted by The Connecticut Section PGA in two stroke play stages. \n1. Age Group Championships; 18-holes on Monday\, July 13\, to determine age group winners in both amateur and professional divisions. Prizes to be awarded to the following age groups in both divisions: 50-59; 60-69; 70 & up. Prizes for amateurs will be gift certificates redeemable at the Shennecossett golf shop\, and professionals will be mailed prize checks. Ties for low score in a division decided by a match of cards\, all other places will split prizes. \n2. Senior Open; 36-hole\, stroke play competition. \nMonday\, July 13 – First round\, 18-holes; There will be a cut to the 72 lowest scores and ties. \nTuesday\, July 14 – Second round\, 18-holes; If necessary\, A Sudden-death playoff to determine the overall champion immediately will take place upon the completion of regulation play.
