The Raceway Golf Club began and conducted this tournament for 11 years. It was one of the founding tournaments of the PGA Junior Golf TOUR. To show its appreciation, the Connecticut Section PGA Golf Foundation pays tribute to both the ideals formulated by the late Jack Kelly and the efforts made by the committee members and event sponsors that resulted in an extremely successful junior golf tournament.
The 2018 Jack Kelly PGA Junior Tournament of Champions was played August 21-22 at Shennecossett Golf Course in Groton, CT, and was a 36-hole Stroke Play; Boys & Girls Division; playoffs for champions if necessary. This was a special invitational event made possible through the Connecticut Section PGA Junior Golf Association. Now in its 24th year, the 2018 Junior Tournament of Champions invited the Connecticut Section's best young golfers to compete in the season-concluding event, designed to be one of the premier "major" junior tournaments within the region.
The Champion and runner up in both the Boys and Girls Divisions received trophies; pro shop credit was also awarded to winners in the Champions, Players, and Development TOUR contests.
