Connecticut Section PGA Golf Foundation
The Connecticut Section PGA Golf Foundation, Inc. is a non-stock corporation that received approval from the Internal Revenue Service on January 17, 1995, to be classified as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Foundation was founded to provide information and services to golf and golfers, and to promote the game to the public at large. It is intended to serve golf throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.
Since its inception, one of the primary objectives of the Foundation has been the support of youth golf programs and activities, including the Connecticut Section PGA Junior Golf Association and several youth golf programs. The Foundation will strive to help fund these initiatives and many others including programs that serve women golfers, Special Olympians, and physically challenged golfers.
Dollars contributed to the Foundation are completely tax-deductable. The Foundation strives to raise money in many ways, including but not limited to solicitation of gifts, grants and contributions from corporations, businesses, private citizens, and other foundations. Also, PGA Professionals participate in the annual section fund raising drive, entitled Drive for the Game (a day chosen at their facility).
Youth golf groups, junior golf programs at golf courses, and others are encouraged to complete a Foundation Grant Application to seek funding for these efforts.
