About the Connecticut Section PGA

The Connecticut Section PGA is one of 41 sections chartered that together comprise the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA of America). All of the state of Connecticut – with the exception of territory south and west of a line between the cities of Danbury and Bridgeport, and the western half of the state of Massachusetts, except for a small northwestern corner of the state-are the boundaries for the section.

There are a total of 329 golf professionals affiliated with the section (288 PGA Members and 41 Registered Associates). These professionals are employed at over 175 PGA Recognized Golf Facilities throughout the region, with the exception of Life Members who are retired or not actively employed.

The Connecticut Section of the PGA of America was the 23rd of the 41 sections that have been chartered by The PGA of America, which was founded in 1916. The Connecticut Section has humble but proud beginnings. The PGA gave the section its charter in 1933 after a series of meetings that took place in the spring of that year.

The Administrative Office of the section is located in Glastonbury, CT. Office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM during weekdays. The office is closed on weekends and holidays.
