Golf In Schools

The Connecticut PGA Golf Foundation is thrilled to announce the official launch of its new initiative, Golf in Schools!

Our commitment to junior golf is fundamentally about access and growth, both in the game and in life. By delivering inclusive Golf in Schools programming, we are creating vital entry points for young people who may not otherwise have exposure to the sport. The program utilizes specialized equipment to introduce the game in a fun, safe, and engaging environment right in the school setting.

The result of this effort is more than just player development, it’s leadership development, confidence building, and meaningful peer connection.

A Pathway to the Game

The Golf in Schools program is purposefully structured to be the foundational step in a young person’s golf journey, acting as a gateway to our comprehensive junior golf pathway. This early exposure provides a seamless avenue for students to discover and then transition into more structured opportunities, including:

  • Connecticut PGA Junior Golf TOUR: As young golfers advance, the Foundation-underwritten Connecticut PGA Junior Golf TOUR provides a competitive outlet serving hundreds of boys and girls across the section. 3 different levels of play for the developing golfer, including 9, 18 and 36-hole tournaments.
  • PGA Jr. League: Our introductory school programs are the perfect way for kids to develop the skills and interest to join a local PGA Jr. League team, which offers fun, team-based golf programming for all skill levels. The Foundation already provides financial support through scholarships and entry fee relief for juniors in this program.
  • Drive, Chip and Putt: The basic skills learned in the school program are the building blocks for competing in the local, sub-regional and regional qualifying for the national Drive, Chip and Putt competition.

By reaching children where they are in their schools, we ensure that more families are aware of the incredible junior programs available and that golf becomes a truly accessible sport for everyone.

The Connecticut PGA Golf Foundation’s mission is to grow the game and positively impact the lives of youth by enabling access to PGA Professionals and the game of golf.
