Street, Mentz, Leja, Ungvarsky, and Stennett tie for second
HARTFORD, Conn. – First round co-leader Chris Tallman made three consecutive birdies on the back nine today at Keney Park Golf Course and separated himself for all other contenders in the 88th Connecticut PGA Championship.
Tallman fired a final round 3-under par 67 to couple with his first round 66, and finished a total of 7-under par, and won the championship by seven strokes.
The other first round co-leader Billy Street (66-74), tied for second at even par with Joe Mentz (68-72), Frank Leja (72-68), Aaron Ungvarsky (73-67), and Zac Stennett (71-69).
Tallman, the PGA General Manager at Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass., is the reigning Connecticut Section PGA Player of the Year and has a commanding lead in this year’s points race as well.
The Championship sponsors were Club Car, Mohegan Sun, OMEGA, and the PGA TOUR.
