Connecticut Section PGA holds the 87th Annual Fall Meeting Virtually

Howie Friday Elected President of Connecticut Section PGA

SOUTH GLASTONBURY, Conn. (November 23, 2020) – The Connecticut Section PGA officers broadcasted its 87th Annual Fall Meeting virtually from its offices today. There were 130 attendees tuning into the meeting through their devices as elections of officers and directors took place; and a proposed resolution to amend Section Bylaws was addressed.

Howie Friday, the head golf professional at Stanley Golf Course, was elected to serve a two-year term as the Section President. Friday was elected as Vice President in 2018 and had been serving dual roles as both President and Vice President since 2019, filling the vacancy when former President John Steffen transferred to the Middle Atlantic Section PGA.

Bob Sparks, the head golf professional at Fairview Farms Golf Course, was elected as Vice President; and Phil Krick Jr., the general manager at Mohegan Sun Golf Club, was elected as Secretary. Sparks and Krick Jr. both will serve two-year terms. Sparks served as Secretary for the past two years.

The voting delegates also elected Brian Keiser, head professional at Longmeadow Country Club; and Brian Phelps, director of instruction at the Golf Club of Avon as new Directors.

Sean Busca, Clinton Country Club, and Mark Moriarty, The First Tee of Connecticut, each completed their three-year terms as Directors and were thanked for their service.
