Howie Friday of Stanley Golf Course Named 2024 Connecticut Section PGA Golf Professional of the Year
Section announces 11 Special Award Recipients for 2024
GLASTONBURY, Conn. (September 5, 2024) – Howie Friday, Head Professional at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain, Conn. has been selected as the 2024 Connecticut Section PGA Golf Professional of the Year.
The Section’s most prestigious award recognizes a PGA member for their overall performance as a golf professional, leadership, service to his/her PGA Section, the ability to inspire fellow professionals, and the promotion of the game of golf.
Friday was elected to PGA membership in 1994 where he began as Assistant Professional at Tumble Brook Country Club until 2006 when he ascended to head professional, a position he held until departing for Stanley Golf Course in 2019.

Merchandiser of the Year – Private – Jacob Rotherham, Race Brook Country Club
Merchandiser of the Year – Public – Jordan Gosler, Manchester Country Club
Patriot Award – Sean Busca, Clinton Country Club
Sales Representative of the Year – Brian Murphy, Titleist
