The Connecticut Section Player of the Year competition is a player performance points standing that is tracked during the Tournament Season for PGA Members of the Connecticut Section. There are two divisions: (1) All PGA Members and (2) Senior Only (age 50+) PGA Members. The Points rankings are used to determine who earns berths on the PGA Team for the annual Julius Boros Challenge Cup Matches.
The Section PGA Player of the Year is identified as the Bob Shea award winner. The Player of the Year’s name is engraved on the Bob Shea perpetual plaque that is located at the Connecticut Section PGA home office in South Glastonbury.
